When I am Free: A Benefit Concert for Rainbow Railroad

On Wednesday, October 26th, Rainbow Railroad will host a benefit concert at Jazz Showcase in Chicago entitled, “When I Am Free”, featuring renowned American jazz singer Patricia Barber.

This event kicks off Rainbow Railroad’s Chicago 5 Lives Campaign, the annual fundraising campaign for our Chicago-based community. The Chicago 5 Lives Campaign aims to raise funds to help at least 5 people find safety, and serves as part of Rainbow Railroad’s end-of-year fundraising effort. Previous “When I Am Free” benefit concerts have spotlighted an array of musicians and performers — many based in Chicago — whose music and presence speaks to the worldwide struggle for freedom.

This is the fourth year of the Chicago 5 Lives Campaign – and this year, we hope to eclipse over $200,000 raised through this annual effort.
