How it Works

Taking the steps toward a better life begins with learning about the options available to you. This is a deeply personal experience and it is your responsibility to help us verify your case. You will need to obtain your own travel documents and work with us to develop your best path to safety.

It is essential that you take steps to develop your own solutions while we work together. Rainbow Railroad is an ally in your journey; without your commitment and partnership, our ability to help you is very limited.

Step 1

Request help

First, we need you to fill out our help form with as many details as possible. Everyone's route to safety is unique; we have multiple support programs that may fit your needs. The more details you are able to share with us the better. We know this is highly sensitive information so we keep everything you share with us entirely confidential.

Step 2

Verification

The next step involves sharing your story and experiences. While we know this can be overwhelming, sharing details and supporting documents about your situation will help us verify you. We will provide you with a list of documents that can be used to validate your claim.

Step 3

Get a plan

Once we verify your case, we will try to work with you to develop a solution to make your life safer. We attempt to offer emergency travel support when possible but we also have a number of other programs that focus on financial aid, applications for government sponsorship, in-country relocation or referrals to others who may be able to help.
