Dennis is a human rights activist working with sexual minorities in Canada, Uganda, and internationally.

Since arriving in Canada in January 2019, Dennis been active with Dignity Network, Rainbow Railroad, Stephen Lewis Foundation and more recently as an executive committee member on the Toronto-Danforth NDP riding association and Vice President of New African Canadians- NAC.

Dennis continues to run campaigns in Canada aiming at influencing public and legal opinions around LGBTQ people internationally.

In Uganda, he was the Vice-Chair of the board of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), Director of Programs at Icebreakers Uganda and chairperson Other-sheep Uganda.

He is an inaugural representative for sexual minorities on the government of Uganda’s ministry of health technical working group and the driving force behind the GMT service providers’ network of Uganda.

He is currently in court in Uganda challenging the government’s refusal to register Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG).

He brings with him a wealth of experience on human rights issues, stigma, discrimination issues as well as access to legal and health rights with underprivileged communities living in difficult conditions.

Dennis studied economics at Makerere University in Kampala.
