Taha is an activist for the Birthright to Live, and is honoured to have found a new purpose in life working for Rainbow Railroad. They are proudly Gay/Sexual Fluid and Gender Fluid and grew up in a Muslim family but identifies as a Spiritual person. Taha was granted Convention Refugee Status in 2021 and now live as a settler in Tkaronto also known as Toronto in Canada as they faced persecution in Pakistan due to homophobic post-colonialism. Taha brings a wealth of knowledge from the lived-experience and considers Formal Education as a Privilege due to the system in place.

Taha’s achievements include spearheading union establishment at Egale Canada. As elected Bargaining Representative Lina drafted the first Collective Agreement between Egale Canada and the Canadian Union of Public Employees which in the first time in history included Gender Affirming Care.

Taha also represents diverse SOGIESC persons at the refugee board in Canada.
Their past work experience includes Egale Canada, major financial institutions, and the French embassy in Pakistan.

Outside of work, Taha enjoys spending time with both their chosen family and born family, visiting vintage markets, hosting brunch, and a love for anything in pink and a dedication to decolonize their mind.
