Born and raised amidst the vibrant landscapes of Mandeville, Jamaica, Kendra’s journey unfolds a profound commitment to human rights. Armed with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Guidance and Counselling, her roots in Psychology have fuelled her passion for making a difference. For over a decade, Kendra has been an unwavering Human Rights Defender, dedicating herself to the empowerment of LGBTQ+ people affected by homelessness and forced displacement. Kendra’s dedication shines through her community mobilization skills and her ability to utilize policy and advocacy as catalysts for tangible social change.

Having overcome her own challenges, with the support of Rainbow Railroad Kendra now calls Virginia her home in the United States. As a dynamic community organizer, she is thrilled to contribute to the organization that transformed her life. In her capacity as Senior Engagement Officer, Kendra leads the planning and implementation of the U.S. State Department’s Welcome Corps program to resettle refugees in the U.S. and supports Rainbow Railroad’s U.S. expansion efforts and refugee leadership initiatives. Behind the scenes, Kendra wields a secret superpower – logistics management. With finesse, she orchestrates the intricate dance of details, ensuring the seamless execution of initiatives that leave a lasting impact. As Kendra’s story continues to evolve, so does her commitment to creating a world where everyone can live authentically and without fear.
