Julien joined Rainbow Railroad in January 2023, transitioning from the International Development sector where he led the deployment of over 600 Canadian youth to long-term overseas development placements over the last 6+ years. He’s engaged university and college aged students to participate in Canada’s development efforts with Indigenous youth programs here in Canada as well as unemployed and underemployed youth programs in Peru, Bolivia, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania and Indonesia. Transitioning from a recruitment and talent acquisition background to a strategic planning role before coming to Rainbow Railroad, Julien’s work has more recently focused on good governance, board engagement and restructuring legacy programs to be more diverse and inclusive.
