Help Others Out

In almost 70 countries, it’s illegal and dangerous to be LGBTQI.

This Coming Out Day, join Rainbow Railroad and “Help Others Out” by giving voice to the voiceless.

What is Help Others Out?

Help Others Out is an international campaign to raise awareness around the countless LGBTQI+ people who live in places where it's impossible to come out without compromising your safety — or even your life. The campaign also supports Rainbow Railroad’s year-round work to help LGBTQI people in danger find legal pathways to safety.

How do I take action?

  1. Change your profile photo.
Change your profile picture on social media platforms to the 'Anonymous avatar' between now and Coming Out Day October 11th to symbolize the countless LGBTQI people who can’t come out because of hateful laws and danger.
  2. Share the message.
Share the message and links to rainbowrailroad.org/helpothersout with friends, family and followers.

Here's a suggested social media post: "On October 11th we celebrate #ComingOutDay, but in many parts of the world being LGBTQI can be a life-threatening secret. #HelpOthersOut by taking action and pitching in at rainbowrailroad.org/donate.”
  3. Make a contribution
Make a life-saving donation right now. All donations will be matched up to $50,000 thanks to The Calamus Foundation.

Since 2006, Rainbow Railroad has helped save the lives of more than 600 LGBTQI people in desperate search for safety. With your support, we can do even more to Help Others Out.
